MY COMMITMENT: Clean Water and Community Trust
Crystal Clear Special Utility District’s mission is to serve as a provider of clean, reliable potable water to its customers at the lowest possible cost while ensuring that it meets both the customers current and future water needs. I will work to ensure the above mission statement is met, but also to hold staff and board accountable to truthfulness, respect, and kindness toward its customers. The new developments have to be held accountable for reliable, long-lasting infrastructure. Compromised existing lines must be repaired promptly to decrease waste. Crystal Clear doesn’t need to buy water twice due to leakage.
Decades of Service, Leadership, and Community Expertise
I bring decades of diverse professional and community experience to my work with Crystal Clear, blending education, business management, and public service. I earned a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Minnesota and spent 13 years teaching Special Education, developing skills in patience, communication, and problem-solving. After leaving the classroom, I moved into real estate, flipping houses and building a rental property business that now includes nine units. Alongside this, I work part-time in roofing sales and maintain strong connections with former students who are now adults, supporting their growth and success.
My leadership experience spans multiple organizations, including serving on a Montessori School Board, a Church Council, and coordinating a school district’s Special Olympics program for five years. I also owned and operated a campground for nine years, where I managed a small water system and ensured compliance with TCEQ regulations. This combination of hands-on management, regulatory knowledge, and community involvement gives me a broad perspective on infrastructure, accountability, and service.
Through these experiences, I have developed a deep understanding of what it takes to provide reliable, sustainable, and efficient water services. At Crystal Clear, I apply these lessons every day to ensure that our community receives clean, affordable water delivered with integrity, respect, and transparency.
